About
After obtaining a BA degree in political science and English from Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, I decided to specialize in languages. I did not have to look far as Leipzig – only 40 km from Halle – is home to the Institute of Applied Linguistics and Translatology (IALT). As a member CIUTI and the network European Master’s in Translation, the IALT stands for excellence in translation education. After spending an exchange semester at Geneva University and writing a thesis on software localization, I graduated with an MA in translation for English in French in 2016.
I started working in the German-English language pair in 2017, mostly with texts from the IT (technical documentation, UI) and legal (contracts) fields.
But… the IALT would not let me go, so in 2022 I enrolled in its MA program for conference interpreting. Focusing on English only this time, I have been studying part-time on the side. After passing the interpreting exams, I can confidently say that I have come to love the very special challenge of enabling spoken communication under time pressure.
In early 2025 I moved to Bremen.
